Welcome to Buck’s Bend Farm Camp!

We are excited to offer an informal farm camp at our Sugar Hollow home for 4 kids in grades 1-5 (must be an independent swimmer or wear a flotation device) led by Yates sisters, Linden (16, rising 11th at Western) and Saylor (13, rising 9th at Western) and backed by farm mom & artist, Christy Yates.

To offer a small group of kids a safe and fun laid back home farm experience.

Loose Daily Schedule

9-9:15 Arrivals & welcomes
9:15-9:45 Circle time - breathing, intentions & ice breaker
9:45-10:30 Farm animal time - Water & feed hens & goats. Gather eggs. Other activities may include: grooming goats, watching hoof trimming, helping to clean coop.
10:30-11 Garden time - planting, watering, weeding.
11-11:15 Snack time
11:15-11:45
Meadow walk, blackberry picking & plant identification.
11:45-12:30 Craft workshop led by Linden & Saylor or an art workshop led by Christy.
12:30-1:15 assemble & eat picnic lunch (in fort or by pool)
1:30-3 pool time
3 pick up

Cost: $300 per kid for 5 day week, $240 for 3 day week. Discount for siblings ($500 for 5 days, $400 for 3 days).

What to bring?

Comfy clothes - that can get dirty
Swim suit & goggles if need - we have towels!
Sunscreen & tick spray - if you need a special kind, but we’ll have mineral sunscreen & Deet-free tick repellant
Hat - for sun & bugs
Water bottle
Lunch if want but we can provide a simple sandwich lunch that the kids can assemble - either PBJ -or sunbutter if peanut allergies- or a cheese/pesto. Fruit. Veggie sticks. Chips.
Rain jacket for rainy days - camp can continue with rain; documentaries like The Biggest Little Farm might be shown if we have an extended rainy day pending parent approval.
Solid T-Shirt - of any light color and can be old/used, ideally natural fabric for tie-dying.
