I’m honored to be a part of this online juried art exhibit with CIVA. Description below.

Saying yes to God is one of the most important things a person will ever do.  In the Gospels, we are told of Mary, the Mother of Christ, who set a profound example of what this genuinely looks like. Mary is a model of faith because she listened, pondered, and contemplated the word of God while witnessing it in action.  For this Advent season, CIVA is calling for art that expresses the essence of our own Magnificat that exults and glorifies the Lord – a song of hope in which we identify with Mary’s acceptance of God’s word, and we aspire to her spirit of openness and wholehearted response. 

The aim for YES! virtual exhibition is to visually guide us during the days of Advent as we anticipate the joy of the Incarnation, reflecting upon how we are being called to respond in hope to the “how can this be?” moments in our own lives. Where and how might we say, with all our heart: “May it be done to me according to your word.”
